Late Night Meanderings

Stray hairs
in loops and turns
a tiny rollercoaster
Thin lines traced on white plains
A red satin carpet
shimmering and bright
Words winding across the page
blue like the rainclouds at night
Crooked, curly
Twists and loops
like more stray hairs
patiently laid out in words
only to be blown away
ruffled about
Tears and blood
(the occasional sleepy drool)
A haven
A resting place
Where dreams open
and all drift away to strangeness
