On top of the world
Standing very still
Arching back
Arms praising the sky
Lonely goddess clinging
To the last shreds of her peace
I behold this sight
A reflection
As I quietly harbor the pain
Of loving
Heart still glowing
Tender and sweet
And I hide it
Balanced precariously
Twirling
The forest so dark
Like a deep abyss
And me
Like a lone firefly
The scars ache
In their twisted patterns
Like thorns on a rosebush
Wound around me
Like restraints
The stars in my eyes are dull
Dying embers
Just a breath away
From a blaze
And you
So timid
Watchful and admiring
Accidentally you found me
In this sorry state
Couldn’t bear to touch me
Afraid I'd crumble
But I told you I needed to
So I could rise
Like the famed phoenix do
From the dust of my old self
Rise and amaze you
Terrify you
With the tempest of my passion
And yet
Gentle like a summer evening
I lift you up with me
The scars turned to flowering vines
And I rise as new
With flowers in my hair
And joy in my heart
Not a lone firefly anymore
As we dance
With light steps
And regain the peace that was lost
Standing very still
Arching back
Arms praising the sky
Lonely goddess clinging
To the last shreds of her peace
I behold this sight
A reflection
As I quietly harbor the pain
Of loving
Heart still glowing
Tender and sweet

i really like this one. Very impressive imagery.
especially the scars and vines...
"like the famed phoenix" is a good enough line on its own, from a grammatical standpoint
